Our verdict

Pros

  • Everyday car insurance gives members 10% off their Woolworths shop once per month. With the average Australian household grocery bill soaring, these are worthwhile savings.
  • Its comprehensive policy offers up to $500 worth of cover for child safety seats and prams, in addition to coverage for personal effects. Most insurers only offer personal effects coverage.
  • Everyday car insurance has a great Finder Score of 7.3/10.

Cons

  • It has mid-range to higher pricing but an average to low level coverage in comparison to other comprehensive policies. You may be able to get a similar policy for cheaper elsewhere.
  • For third party property and third party fire & theft policies, the uninsured motorist benefit covers up to $3,000 - this is lower than others who cover up to $5,000 as standard.
  • Excess free windscreen cover is only an optional extra. Other insurers like Australia Post include excess free windscreen repairs as part of its standard comprehensive policy.

My car was damaged by the hail storm, it’s just been fixed and ready for me to pick up, however I was told I needed to pay the excess.
Hail is a natural disaster and not my fault so excess should not be liable by me.
      Could you clarify this please.

        Hi Vanessa,

Thanks for reaching out! According to our page and Woolworths’ their comprehensive car insurance covers natural events. I suggest to review your policy on natural events and contact Woolworths to clarify this. Hope this was helpful. Don’t hesitate to message us back if you have more questions.

        Hi Sange,

        Thanks for getting in touch!

You may cancel your cover any time you want.
If you’re paying premiums monthly there will be no refund.
If you’re paying premiums annually, you can get a refund for any unused portion of the premiums, minus statutory charges and the cancellation fee.

        Hope this helps.

        Cheers,
        Nikki
