Coles Home Insurance review

Coles Home and Contents Insurance is great for Flybuys members and includes plenty of optional extras for those who like to tailor their cover.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Coles Home Insurance has an option to add sum insured safeguard to your policy. This isn't available with all providers.
  • If you connect your Flybuys then you can collect double Flybuys points per $1 spent for the lifetime of your policy. A maximum cap of 1,000 points per policy per month applies.
  • You can save 30% on your first year's premium when you buy a combined Home and Contents policy online, or 15% when you buy a Building or Contents policy online.

Cons

  • It'll cost you extra to pay your premiums monthly or fortnightly. It's free to do this with many other insurers.
  • If you wish to cancel your policy early then you may have to pay a $40 cancellation fee.
  • Flood cover is not included as standard, it's an optional extra. Other insurers, like Youi, include flood cover as standard.
